UGH. My camera.. THE EXCUSE... :)

OK. So I have a million looks I have wanted to post and my camera wont load them on my computer!!! I cant wait to show everyone the swatches of some of the colors I have in my new color palette!!! I have to say though, the palette is VERY intimidating. I find myself wanting to do the browns or just not use it because it is overwhelming. But I'm using it!!! I also got the brushes from eyeslipsface.com and they are awesome! I'm tellin' you.. for paying $14.50(including shipping)  for 6 new brushes and a pair of eyelashes, that was one heck of a deal! I also stopped by K-Mart today (because I was looking for a planner... I happened to have stumbled upon this amazing find) and there were some POSH brushes!!! Posh is a cute little line that I learned about and I had ordered some of their brushes a while ago online (also very inexpensive) and I was totally stoked to see them there! They have all the best ones and a gnarly set PLUS everything is a dollar off... which doesn't seem like a lot but its nice cuz all the brushes are like 3 or 4 dollars... Saving a dollar here or there is nice!!!

In other news:
I came to realize that the lack of real organization in my life is not only putting stress on my life but actually wasting a lot of precious time and really making me LOSE money (like I already don't spend enough.. when your unorganized you end up buying multiple of what you already have). So after a lot of thinking I decided I need to make a change and really organize my time, life, house, makeup.... everything. I joined a site called FLYLADY.COM and it's for "de-cluttering" and organization and headed over to Barnes & Nobel and got the book "Organization for Dummies". This book is seriously changing my life. I am getting rid of what I dont need, managing my time and not to mention that the rooms I HAVE organized in my house look AMAZING. I have become almost obsessed with organizing and cleaning [ew.. to the point of vacuuming twice a day... I need to stop lol] . I want it to come as second nature to me incase our family ever expands. I also am so tired of losing makeup... this ish is expensive!!! So I just wanted to let everyone know that its my goal. And I will not post at night unless I have completed my little goals during the day  (I used to just come home, drop everything and sit online for hours.... I kind of feel like this should be a reward.. and since I spent about 4 hours cleaning today... Im rewarding myself :D!!!!) I recommend that book AND site to anyone and everyone, even if you are OCD and your house is impeccable, organizing your time to get the most out of your day is good for everyone since it is the only thing in life you cant get back.

Enough of that :)

THE MAKEUP LOOKS WILL COME... ;P

Makeup makeup everywhere...

So i apologize for not posting the last couple of nights.. Technical difficulties but I am ready to post today.

So I'm strolling around Rite Aid and I see this line called Jesse's Girl and they have some AWESOME loose eyeshadows and recalled reading about it ONCE very briefly on Makeup Geek. SO i got some of the loose shadows.  Best part is.... THEY ARE ONLY 3.99!!!WOW... what a WONDERFUL investment!!! These are the coolest loose eyeshadows on the PLANET!!!! I got 6 of them and let me tell you... the pictures dont do them justice. I even went to work with them and showed Stefanie [a co-worker/bestie] and we went over to Rite Aide after work so she could buy them [and she is in love with them too..... ] They are very very pigmented and last so long!! Here are the pictures:

AHH I am crazy about the colors... the only bad thing is, is that when you open them you rip off the sticker with the color name on it so I have NO idea what colors these are but they are all SO pretty and pigmented, just kind of depends on what colors you go for. My favorite is the blue, the white iridescent one and the goldish one.... The green is not as strong as I would like, but ontop of a green eyeshadow it would look FAB.

Moving on:
My mama called me and told me that I should pictures up of my new makeup area because she has no clue how to use myspace where I posted a teenie picture of it.. So this is for my beautiful mom :)

YAY FOR MY CUSTOM MADE VANITY :) This is inside of my closet cuz we have so much room in here. I still need to set up the drop lights and add some decoration but I could spend every minute of every day in here. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. <3

Hope everyone has a FABULOUS day!!!!

Errrbody in the Club...

Hi!!! I have 2 looks today AND I have some swatches for tomorrow (I really cant wait.... im VERY excited to show everyone the great stuff I found!!!!) :)

Bluesssss!!! :

I had been eyeing my "Deep Truth" eyeshadow (MAC) for a while and still couldn't figure out what to do with it so I decided to improvise. I used:

Aquatique by Lancome all over the lid as a base
MAC'sBlackground Paint Pot (black eyeshadow base) all over the lid up to the crease
MAC's Deep Truth eyeshadow over the black base
MAC's Cool Heat to blend out the Deep Truth
MAC Pro's Blue Calm on top of Cool Heat
MAC's Bio Green above crease
MAC's Shroom as brow highlight
Liner [all around]
3D Extreme Mascara

ANDDDD This is mah smokey look sucka: [I actually like this one WAY WAY more than my blues...]

I had SO SO much fun with this look today. I got a lot of compliments on it and was excited to do a brownish smokey look because I hadn't done one in SO SO SOOOOO long!

I used:

Aquatique by Lancome as eyeshadow base
MAC's Blackground Paint Pot [again] all over the lid and up to the crease
MAC's Club eyeshadow over that [reallllly made the color pop]
MAC's Bronze to fade and in the crease
NYX Eggplant (purplish color) in the outer V to give it a teenie kick...
MAC's Shroom to highlight
Heavy eyeliner smoked out on the bottom
3D Extreme Revlon Mascara....<3

Ce Fini! Thats all I used!!!
I am WAY in love with the Blackground paintpot I want to use it EVERY DAY hahaha...

Well I better go to bed. I will swatch my new colors of pigment type eyeshadows that I bought, tomorrow and post a review [IN LOVE is all I could say<33333]

Red Rover Red Rover....

Hey everyoneee :) [thats assuming people actually look at my blog lol] I just wanted to post the look from yesterday that I did:

I did this look with
Aquatique from Lancome all over the eye (eyeshadow base)
MACs All That Glitters on the inner corner of the eye
MAC's Exensive pink on the inner half of the lid
MACs Coppering (the red) on the outer 1/3 of the eye and into the crease
MAC's Beauty Marked in the crease REALLY worked in there
NYX Sunrise to accentuate the red
MAC's Shroom to highlight [ brow highlight]
Liquid liner with regular liner to line the lower and upper waterline
Coppering under lower lashes

3D Extreme Mascara

Thats ITTT.. I took pictures of todays look too with the blues and it was BY FAR my favorite look I have done in a LONG LONG time. I hate taking pictures of my looks because I am NOT photogenic and pictures blank out a lot of the colors I use :(... but I'll keep doing it :) Hope everyone is having a great weekend :)

I will have more time tomorrow to post some reviews or different things and I HOPE I get either my brushes or my palette tomorrow!!!!!!

Night!

Movie update...

Since I dont have much of a review and don't really have time to post my gnarly makeup look today [Which I will TOTALLY post tomorrow :)] I am going to tell everyone how EXCITED I was to go to one of the castings for the movie I am doing! It was in Washington UT and LET ME TELL YOU... OMG.. this movie is seriously AMAZING.. hearing some of the people recite the lines, you really just get the chills  knowing the person could possibly play the character. It was nice as the makeup artist to see and envision what everyone will look like all done up and in complete wardrobe and 100% in character! AHHH .... the people I am working with are SO amazing and so UNBELIEVABLY talented its ridiculous. Its nice because we all have the same vision. We would hear someone read for one character then we would be like.... "hmmm no... he should read for 'so and so'". I feel so blessed to be involved in such a great project with such wonderful people :) Cant wait to get started and see this all unfold.

I love my job.

P.s. Everyone has to go get the REVLON 3d Extreme Mascara... WOW... what a great find! Its my new fave... for today ;)

NIGHT NIGHT!!!<3

Are you a .... FLIRT!?

Hey everyone!!! I have some reviews for you on a couple of awesome products. For those of you that don't know, Khols [yes, the store chain] has a cosmetics line that they sell called "FLIRT!" which is apparently owned by Mrs. Estee Lauder herself [well... the family.. she is dead]. It is created by some of the same creators as MAC and is actually an awesome product!! So I went over to good ol' Khols today to see if there was anything to find. I started off at lipsticks since I have had a crazy obsession with lipcolor lately, even though I hardly wear it...? Anyways, a while ago I bought a crazy red called "Wicked" which I am totally digging and have worn once to work and am planning on wearing sometime very soon. Today I found my favorite pink EVER...Its called "ACE". Its bright and GORGEOUS and VERY VERY pigmented and it's from the "High Wattage Intense and Creamy Lipcolor" collection that they have [So is WICKED]. They had some nice eyeshadow colors but I am waiting on any eyeshadow until I get my palette just so I know what I need and what I dont need. I also looked at the blushes and I swear to everyone I will someday own every single blush there.. they are SO beautiful and SO SO soft!!! I bought 3: a nude, a orange-y pink and a plum [I can explain: 2 of the blushes were in a bin where they had discontinued colors and they were half off!!! and the other one I bought full price which is only 14 dollars... for a rad blush? Yeah.. Its justified haha] In that bucket there was also a lip and cheek tint that was so fierce I had to get it [$5 normally $10] its called bittersweet and it is a soft pink.. :).

These are the 3 blush swatches. From left to right we have Hot Mama, Hearthrob and Belly Dancing.

Heres the lipstick cases.... I think they are pretty lol

Heres the pink I got "ACE"....IT'S SO FIERCE!!!

Here are the swatches for the 2 lipsticks and the lip and cheek tint. From left to right: Ace, Bittersweet, and Wicked

Look at that staying power! This ish will NOT come off!!

For those of you on a budget and want some awesome lipsticks, stop by Walgreens and check out Revlons Super Lusterous Lipstick. Revlon makes some awesome stuff and right now they have buy one get one FREE!!! So i went over to Walgreens and picked out two plummy lipsticks: Copperglow Berry and Mauvy Night. They are SO pretty and they are SO SO SO soft on your lips!! They have  pinks, mauve, plum, red, nude, coral and brown sections so they have a TON to choose from!! Here are swatches of my 2 colors:

If you prefer matte colors [no shine], then Revlon has a new matte line that I have 2 lipsticks from... A great nude called Nude Attitude and a red called Strawberry Suede that I could swatch if anyone wants me too.

Im going to start reviewing some mascaras soon and letting you know what I feel about them. Clinique has an AWESOME new one called High Impact Lash Curling. It is sweat proof, cold water proof, tear proof BUT comes off with warm water! [And the curling in it is sweeeet!].  I'll review high end and low end just so everyone knows :) My mom is also going to be sending me some NYX shadows since we don't have them in St. George [Only 3 bucks and have the most wonderful pigment EVER!] so everyone needs to keep a lookout for that! I'm going to try and do some sort of review every night or at least update every night!

Night everyone!!

And so it begins...

Well FINALLY!!! Geez!! I have been trying to make a blog for so long and I finally got the guts to start doing it!! I decided to start today  [on the eve of St. Pattys Day] because I took some pictures and wanted to share my St. Pattys Day look! BEFORE I start with that I want to tell everyone a little about me [for those of you who don't know me... which a lot of you do :)]. My name is Donna Christine Rodrigues. I am 23 years old and currently live in St. George Utah... "WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU LIVE THERE?" [you may ask], well, my husband is a manager for my favorite burger place IN 'N OUT BURGER and he took the job here in St. George because the market is great, cost of living is lower than California where we were living, and we wanted to get away from big city's.
I am a Professional Makeup Artist. It is not a pastime nor a hobby but my actual career and infatuation. If anyone knows me they know that I eat, breathe and live makeup [which often gets me in trouble with the honey]. I attended a makeup school in Orange County in 2006 [ which shall remain nameless because it was horrible and I refuse to have them receive any sort of acknowledgement for what I have become and what I have accomplished so far. No hard feelings though lol :) ] I have done photoshoots, runway, bridal [I have my own business in St. George for brides called ' "I Do" Makeup by Donna C.'], a t.v. show [Roomies, didn't end up airing but I still did it!!], and am starting makeup on a BRILLIANT movie by Robert Cedric Bowden called "Thirteen Miles East of Nowhere" soon [just got the script and I can't wait to get started]. In Southern California I worked for the wonderful MAC Cosmetics line and had so much fun, unfortunately there is no MAC in St. George so I am working at Clinique which is where the great skin for the wonderful makeup application is created.  Im making this blog [as I said in the title] to post reviews and finds from either high end lines OR drugstore brands [all lines have something to bring to the table], to post looks I have done and tell how I did it, and just keep everyone updated on what I am doing in my makeup world or with life in general! If it has to do with makeup i'll post it! Hope everyone enjoys <3

OK.. lets get started.... IT IS OFFICIALLY ST. PATRICKS DAY!! Since I don't work tomorrow I decided to start the St. Pattys Day Makeup celebration a day early and do my makeup look today [or... well...technically yesterday now haha] I did a green look with some yellow. Here are the colors I used:

Aquatique from Lancome as eyeshadow base
White from La Femme Palette [ inner corner of eye]
Yellow from my La Femme Palette [on inner half of lid]
Bio Green from MAC [pro color in the outer 1/3rd of eye and into the crease]
Humid from MAC [Crease color]
Shroom from MAC to highlight
Urban Decay's 24/7 eyeliner in zero to line my entire eye and on top
and of course my lashes :)

There we go!! There is my look for this holiday :)

OH! I almost forgot. This week I purchased about 5 brushes and a set of lashes from www.eyeslipsface.com I have heard some wonderful raves about them so I'm deciding to give them a shot. Including shipping it came out to about 14.50 and that was with the code: carolina which it gave me 7.50 off my purchase!!!! I got a confirmation email today that it is being shipped through Fed EX so as soon as I get them I will post a review on how I feel about them!

ALSO my WONDERFUL HUSBAND let me get the 120 palette from EBAY today! WHOO HOOOO!!! All the girls on my favorite site www.makeupgeek.com and another site I visit called www.temptalia.com always talk about how amazing the pigment is and with this being only like 26 bucks how can you go wrong????? I ordered through "Chic.Gallery" [another recommendation from my favorite site!] Look how gorgeous it is:

I seriously cannot wait until I get this!! I will be rushing to the house everyday to see if it is there just like I do when I order my MAC stuff! haha. When I get this palette I will post a million looks.

I better go to bed now since it is past my bedtime ;) but there are some fun looks coming up soon! There is a Makeup Geek "Look of the Week" that is inspired by ANIMALS!!!! So there are zebra looks and lions and toucans and ducks.... I'm SO excited! I'll try and do a different animal every night!! I also had a huge makeup haul that I did last month for my birthday and some fun brands and creams I am trying out right now so I'm dying to do reviews on all of that... so much makeup, so little time!

Night everyone!!
